  • Did you submit an entry for the United States Diversity Visa (DV) Lottery?

    Remember to check dvlottery.state.gov to check the status of your entry. The Department of State never uses email to notify entrants that they are selected for the DV program. Notification of selection only is available by directly accessing “Entrant Status Check” on the E-DV website. Official notifications of selection will be available May 2, 2017, through September 30, 2018, on the E-DV website dvlottery.state.gov.  

  • "Abandon Permanent Resident Status Schedule Change”

    Effective immediately, submissions of abandonment of legal permanent residency (LPR) will only be held on the first and third Thursday of every month from 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm (except holidays). LPR abandonments will only be held at these times. Individuals seeking to abandon their LPR status should appear in-person with their required documents at the Immigrant Visa Unit within these designated service hours. (Posted on 2016/08/24, IV)  

  • New Procedures for Passport and Visa Delivery

    Before your visa interview please register at www.ustraveldocs.com/tw to select a delivery address for your passport's delivery. If your visa application is approved, your passport and visa will be delivered to the pick-up location you selected. There are no extra fees associated with this service. (Posted 2015/12/30, IV) 

Information on Domestic Violence and Legal Rights for Marriage-Based Visa Applicants

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) developed a pamphlet for visa applicants who are foreign fiancé(e)s and spouses of citizens and lawful permanent residents of the United States. Access to the AIT Immigrant Visa Unit is limited to the following:

  • Applicants;
  • Parents or legal guardians of applicant under 18 years old;
  • Aides of disabled applicants;
  • For adoption interview appointments only the adopting parents, adoptee children, and social workers may enter the consular section.

* Appointment holders may not be admitted more than 30 minutes before or after their appointment time.

    The Diversity Visa Lottery Program is administered directly from the Kentucky Consular Center (KCC) in Williamsburg, Kentucky.  Other organizations using similar names have no connection to the KCC.  There is no fee charged by the KCC for sending an entry to the Diversity lottery program.  Click here for more details.
