Visa Waiver Program Turns Three: Photo Contest (Photo: AIT Images)

Taiwan citizens who have traveled to the United States on the Visa Waiver Program (VWP) are invited to participate in the “Visa Waiver Program Turns Three Photo Contest.”  Winners of the photo contest will be invited to meet American Institute in Taiwan Director Kin Moy and receive AIT souvenirs. Entries may be submitted between October 14 and midnight Taipei time November 1, 2015.  All contestants should read the Official Contest Rules on the AIT website: http://www.ait.org.tw/en/vwp-photo-contest-rules.html   Participation in this contest is deemed as acceptance of these Official Contest Rules. 


How to Enter

Submit a photo and caption from your U.S. trip on the Visa Waiver Program with the information below via email to:  AITcontest@mail.ait.org.tw.

    [Submissions from contestants under 18 will not be considered.]
  5. Date, or approximate date, photograph was taken:

  7. Photo caption:

 [Complete the sentence above in Chinese.  A caption in English is optional but suggested.  The English caption must be 60 words or less.  The Chinese caption must be 50 characters or less]

Photograph Requirements

Photos must be in jpeg format, no larger than 5 megabytes, and no smaller than 1024x768 pixels.

Judging Criteria
Judges will choose winning entries based on the following four criteria:

  1. The text of the photo caption explains where the photo was taken, when it was taken, and what is happening in the photo, or the photo itself makes this information clear. 
  2. The photo and photo caption highlight a unique travel destination or experience in the United States.
  3. The photo caption explains why the trip the contestant took to the United States on the Visa Waiver Program was important to the contestant or to someone the contestant knows.
  4. The quality and creativity of the photo.
