AIT Brings Baton Rouge Mayor and Honolulu Managing Director to the 2016 Global Harbor Cities Forum in Kaohsiung

The American Institute in Taiwan’s Kaohsiung Branch Office is pleased to co-sponsor the 2016 Global Harbor Cities Forum in Kaohsiung from September 6-8. Senior-level leaders from over twenty premier harbor cities around the world will meet to discuss the evolving role of harbor cities in the 21st century. Baton Rouge Mayor Melvin “Kip” Holden and Honolulu Managing Director Roy Amemiya will attend the event, in addition to AIT Deputy Director Robert Forden.

Hosted by Kaohsiung Mayor Chen Chu and building on the success of the 2015 International Harbor Cities Conference, this groundbreaking event will grant city leaders an opportunity to share their experiences in managing economic and developmental issues unique to harbor cities. The conference will cover issues such as environmental conservation, marine tourism, urban renewal, industrial transformation, and sustainable development. The event also aims to connect harbor cities in order to bolster their competitiveness in the international community.
