Sarah Fox began her tenure as Commercial Section Chief of the American Institute in Taiwan’s Kaohsiung Branch Office on July 27, 2016.

Ms. Fox previously served as the resident Commercial Diplomat at the Export Assistance Center in Miami, Florida. Prior to her service in Miami, she was Vice Consul of Commercial Affairs at the U.S. Consulate General in Shanghai, China, managing commercial relations in many critical industries, including healthcare, food safety, medical devices and biotechnology. Prior to her tour in Shanghai, Ms. Fox served as Commercial Attaché to the U.S. Embassy in Seoul, Korea. Bilingual in Korean and English, she was a key facilitator for U.S.-Korean business relations in critical industry sectors including defense, aerospace, tourism, broadcasting, and education. She advocated heavily for the sale of U.S. products in Korea and actively participated in bilateral trade negotiations.

Ms. Fox has been with the U.S. Department of Commerce for twelve years; eight of which as a Commercial Diplomat. She was also an International Trade Specialist at the Department of Commerce Headquarters in Washington, D.C, country manager for five Latin American countries, and regional advocacy manager for Asia. Prior to joining the Department of Commerce, Ms. Fox worked in the private sector as a web-developer, financial manager, and account executive. She holds a master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in International Business from the George Washington University. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Asian Studies from the University of Hawaii (Manoa).
