AIT's Role as a Good Neighbor in Neihu

PR-1159E | Date: 10/24/2011

The American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) is pleased to announce that a new stairway on land adjacent to our New Office Compound (NOC) site in Neihu is complete and open for use by our neighbors and public.

AIT voluntarily proposed building and paying for construction of the stairway and received the approval of the Taipei City Department of Education to do so. In addition, AIT has installed lighting for evening use on the stairs, as well as railings and barriers to enhance public safety. AIT also has removed three non-functional light poles on the land adjacent to our NOC. These many measures have enhanced the overall appearance of the property adjacent to the NOC.

AIT is determined to be a good neighbor in our future home in Neihu. We appreciate the Taipei City Department of Education for its continued support of AIT's efforts to make improvements in the area.

AIT's New Office Compound on Jinhu Road in Neihu will be a spacious, state-of-the-art, environmentally-friendly structure befitting the robust ties between the people of Taiwan and the people of the United States.
