The American Institute in Taiwan is pleased to sponsor the 2010 Taiwan International Ceramics Biennale, which will take place at the Yingge Ceramics Museum, No. 200, Wunhua Rd., Yingge Township, Taipei County from July 9 to October 31, 2010.

First held in 2004, the Taiwan International Ceramics Biennale has become one of the world's leading ceramic art exhibitions.  This year's event includes 105 artworks by 43 artists from 17 countries.  Five of the participating artists - Scott Chamberlin, Kim Dickey, Judy Fox, Ron Nagle and Colby Parsons - are from the United States.  In addition to these artists, a number of scholars and journalists representing the U.S. ceramic art world will take part in symposia related to the Biennale on July 9 and 10.  These participants include Glen R. Brown, professor of art history at Kansas State University; Skeffington Thomas, professor of art at Rowan University and former president of the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts; and Sherman Hall, editor of Ceramics Monthly.  Advance registration is required to attend the symposia.  Please visit http://www.ceramics.tpc.gov.tw/2010TCB/ for more information.

"AIT is honored to sponsor the 2010 Taiwan International Ceramics Biennale.  The Yingge Ceramics Museum has become an internationally-recognized destination for the ceramic arts, and the American artists and scholars represented in this year's Biennale are emblematic of the excellence and diversity of the U.S. ceramic art world.  We send the organizers and participants in this year's Biennale our best wishes for a successful event," remarked AIT Cultural Affairs Officer and Director of the AIT American Cultural Center Scott Robinson.
