Masterpieces from the Philadelphia Museum of Art Exhibited at the Taipei Fine Arts Museum

The American Institute in Taiwan congratulates the Taipei Fine Arts Museum and the Philadelphia Museum of Art on the exhibition "Manet to Picasso: Masterpieces from the Philadelphia Museum of Art," which will be shown at the Taipei Fine Arts Museum from June 26 to September 26, 2010.  

The exhibition includes 58 paintings and sculptures by renowned artists, including Édouard Manet, Paul Cezanne, Auguste Rodin, Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso and such American artists as Mary Stevenson Cassatt, Marsden Hartley and Georgia O'Keeffe. 

This marks the Taipei Fine Arts Museum's first collaboration with a U.S. museum.  Established in 1876, the Philadelphia Museum of Art is one of the largest museums in the United States, with a collection of over 225,000 works of art that span the creative achievements of the Western world since the first century AD and those of Asia since the third millennium BC.
