Press Release
AIT Institutes Voice Mail System for American Citizen Services
PR9923E | Date: 1999-05-06
In order to provide better service to the public, the American Citizen Services Unit at the American Institute in Taiwan has instituted a voice mail system. To reach this voice mail system, dial (02) 2784-2306.
A recorded message provides the caller with basic information on passports, reports of birth, and notary services. Callers who would like to speak to an AIT representative may leave their name and number, and we will call back as soon as possible.
The voice mail system also provides instructions for reporting an emergency such as the death, arrest, or hospitalization of an American citizen. These calls will receive an immediate response 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The American Citizen Services Unit receives an exceptionally high volume of calls each day. The voice mail system is designed to provide basic information about AIT's American Citizen services as well as allowing the American Citizen Services Unit to respond as quickly and effectively as possible to individual callers' needs.
