USTR Senior Advisor David H. Burns Arrives in Taipei

David Burns, Senior Advisor for Japan, Taiwan, and Macao at the Office of the United States Trade Representative, arrived in Taipei on April 12, 1998. His five-day visit follows the successful conclusion February 20, 1998, of a bilateral U.S.-Taiwan agreement on market access related to Taiwan's application to join the World Trade Organization.

Mr. Burns will be meeting with Taiwan officials and businessmen to exchange views on a broad range of bilateral trade issues, including intellectual property rights, telecommunication, agriculture, medical devices, pharmaceuticals and government procurement.
