American Music Series, Part V: "American: the Dream and the Realty: The American Past as Seen Through Its Music" by Lloyd W. Neighbors

The American Institute in Taiwan Cultural and Information Section will present a lecture on American Music and Culture titled "AMERICAN: THE DREAM AND THE REALITY" at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 20, 1998, at the American Cultural Center Auditorium (54 Nan Hai Road, Taipei). The speaker will be AIT Cultural and Information Section Chief Lloyd W. Neighbors.

Neighbors's program is the fifth in the American Cultural Center's series on American music and culture. His lecture will be mainly in Chinese. About a dozen well-known American songs will be played in historical order. Handouts of the lyrics will be distributed to the audience.

A book display at the program will introduce materials from the American Resource Center concerning American studies, arts, music, history, society and culture. Complimentary copies of magazines and pamphlets about American studies and culture will be available.
