AIT to Present Marketing Usa '97: U.S. Products Catalog Show

The American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) announces the opening of MARKETING USA '97: U.S. PRODUCTS CATALOG SHOW at the Taipei World Trade Center on September 11.

China External Trade Development Council Secretary General Ricky Kao and AIT Director Darryl N. Johnson will open the show with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, September 11, 10 a.m., at the Taipei World Trade Center Exhibition Hall, Conference Rooms 3-4-5 (2nd floor). Press is invited to cover the ceremony.

AIT will host this trade promotion event on September 11-12, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. in Taipei. This show is sponsored by the China External Trade Development Council and the Importers & Exporters Association of Taipei. The American State Offices Association assisted with the event planning.

Taiwan importers will be able to review catalogs from over 300 U.S. companies covering 25 sectors, the majority of which are new to the Taiwan market.

The companies are from all over the United States, with special focus on 12 states: Arkansas, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Mississippi, New Mexico, North Dakota, Virginia, and Wisconsin. These states will send trade representatives from their state governments to Taipei to participate in the show. Additional firms will be represented by AIT.

This show provides Taiwan businesses with the opportunity to make contact with U.S. companies seeking to expand into the Taiwan market, and to establish relationships with U.S. state trade representatives. Registration is free. Any Taiwan businesses interested in increasing commercial relations with U.S. firms are welcome to attend.

"MARKETING USA '97: MULTI-STATE CATALOG EXHIBITION" is organized by the U.S. Department of Commerce. The exhibition starts on Sept. 11 in Taipei, then will travel to Pusan, Korea, Jakarta, Indonesia, and Singapore.

To register to attend the exhibition in Taipei, or for more information, please contact the AIT Commercial Section by fax: (02)2757-7162, or e-mail: OTaipei@doc.gov.
