Susan E. Stahl Assumes Duties as New AIT Spokesperson
Susan E. Stahl takes up her duties as the Chief of the Information Office and Spokesperson for AIT Taipei on Aug. 7, 1997.
Ms. Stahl grew up in Honolulu, Hawaii, and graduated from the University of Colorado, Boulder (BA-Psychology) in 1978. She earned her MBA in International Marketing at the University of Colorado, Denver in 1986. Prior to joining the Foreign Service and USIA in 1988, Susan worked for United Banks of Boulder and Skyline in Colorado, and in the Business Development Division of U.S. Leasing in San Francisco, California.
Ms. Stahl's most recent assignment with the U.S. Information Agency was in the Office of Western European and Canadian Affairs. From 1995 to 1997, she was Country Affairs Officer for the United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada, Belgium, Holland and Luxembourg. Her last overseas assignment was in Beijing, as Assistant Cultural Affairs Officer responsible for USIS Exchange and Speaker Programs (1992-1994). Prior overseas assignments include Junior Officer Training in Lisbon, Portugal (1989), and Assistant Branch Information Officer in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (1990-1991). Ms. Stahl speaks Portuguese, Mandarin Chinese and some Spanish.
