New Chief of Ait's Cultural and Information Section Arrives to Take up Duties
The American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) is pleased to announce the arrival of Lloyd Neighbors, the new Chief of the Cultural and Information Section. Mr. Neighbors arrived in Taiwan January 19, 1997, and has taken up his duties. Mr. Neighbors was born in 1945 in Marshall, Texas. He has a B.A. in Chinese Language and Literature from Indiana University. He joined the U.S. Information Agency in 1975, and his first assignment was in Taiwan, where he served from 1975-79. He has also had assignments in Croatia, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Brazil. He is married to Mary Lok, originally from Hong Kong. The Chinese University of Hong Kong Press recently published her book, "A Glossary of the Political Terms of the People's Republic of China." The Neighbors have two children, Ruth and Mark.
