On behalf of the American people, the American Institute in Taiwan would like to convey its sympathy to Taiwan for the loss of life and damage to property caused by typhoon Soudelor. The American people have been impressed by the Taiwan authorities’ expertise and professionalism and the Taiwan people’s courage and unity of purpose in responding to this natural disaster. The United States stands by Taiwan during this challenging time.
