2015-08-07 | U.S. Franchise Trade Mission to Visit Taiwan

PR-1534E | Date: 08/07/2015

On August 28, 2015, nine large U.S. franchise companies will visit Taipei to participate in the very first U.S. Franchise Trade Mission to Taiwan.  The United States is the world’s largest franchise business market with total annual revenues reaching nearly $2.5 trillion.

The U.S. Commercial Service of the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT), in conjunction with the International Franchise Association, is organizing this program which will allow these U.S. companies an opportunity to introduce their business franchise models to a large Taiwan audience and seek out qualified master franchise partners.

Taiwan is home to the largest concentration of U.S. franchises in the world and is a market that continues to grow.  The U.S. Commercial Service is dedicated to assisting U.S. companies to explore and successfully do business in markets around the world, and this trade mission will provide a unique opportunity for U.S. franchises to examine the Taiwan market and meet with potential franchising partners.  The program will consist of presentations by the U.S. companies, 1-1 meetings, and networking activities.

The nine companies participating include: Arby’s (based in Atlanta, GA - famous for its roast beef sandwiches, in operation since 1965 with 2,418 restaurants); Berlitz (based in Princeton, NJ - global leadership training and education company, has units in 70 countries including 64 in the U.S.); CKE Restaurants (based in Miami, FL - owns and operates Carl’s Jr., with over 3,600 restaurants in 34 countries); Denny’s (based in Spartanburg, SC - the largest full-service restaurant chain in the world, with 1,700 restaurants in 12 countries); Mosquito Squad (based in Richmond, VA - provides rapid delivery outdoor pest control services, founded in 2005 with 170 locations); Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen (based in Atlanta, GA - world’s 2nd largest fried-chicken quick-service restaurant, with over 2,390 units in 29 countries); Russo’s New York Pizzeria (based in Houston, TX – operates 41 units in the U.S. and five international restaurants in three countries); Sky Zone (based in Los Angeles, CA - the world’s first indoor trampoline park, with 164 units in the U.S. and 10 units in eight international countries); Which Wich Superior Sandwiches (based in Dallas, TX – founded in 2003, has more than 450 locations open or in development in 11 countries).
