Jason Chue began his tenure as Deputy Branch Chief and Economic and Consular Chief of the American Institute in Taiwan’s (AIT’s) Kaohsiung Branch Office in July 2014.

Previously, Mr. Chue served in the Office of UN Political Affairs, Bureau of International Organization Affairs, at the U.S. Department of State in Washington, DC. He served at the U.S. Embassy in Nicosia, Cyprus as a Political/Economic Officer from October 2009 to September 2010 and as Assistant Public Affairs Officer from September 2008 to September 2009. From November 2005 to October 2007, he was a Consular Officer at the U.S. Embassy in Caracas, Venezuela. Prior to joining the Foreign Service, Mr. Chue was an attorney practicing commercial litigation.

Mr. Chue was born and raised in New York City. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Linguistics from Emory University and a Juris Doctorate from Columbia Law School. Mr. Chue speaks Mandarin, Spanish, Turkish, Portuguese, French and German.
