U.S. Senior Official for APEC to Visit Taiwan April 17-21

Robert S. Wang, U.S. Senior Official for Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), is scheduled to visit Taiwan April 17-21.

During his visit to Taiwan, Dr. Wang will participate in an APEC Business Advisory Council meeting and meet with Taiwan government officials and business leaders to exchange views on APEC-related issues and discuss cooperation on bilateral trade and investment.

Dr. Wang assumed the role of U.S. Senior Official for APEC in August 2013. He is a career Foreign Service Officer in the U.S. Department of State. Previously, Dr. Wang was Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Beijing from January 2011 to August 2013, and was Deputy Director of the American Institute in Taiwan from August 2006 to September 2009. He was a visiting fellow with the Freeman Chair in China Studies at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) from September 2009 to December 2010.
