AIT Mourns Death of Former AIT Chairman David Dean

The American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) notes the passing of David Dean, who served as the first Chairman of AIT and the fourth Director of AIT, on October 27, 2013.

Born in New York, Mr. Dean had a long and distinguished career of service to the United States of America, including postings in Beijing, Hong Kong and Taipei.  He was Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Managing Director of AIT from 1979 to 1986.   He was appointed as AIT's fourth Director in 1987 and held that position until 1989.  

The American Institute in Taiwan mourns his passing and extends its condolences to his family.
