Statement by the American Institute in Taiwan Regarding Taiwan’s Participation at the International Civil Aviation Organization Assembly, September 24 – October 3, 2013, in Montreal

PR-1337E | Date: 09/13/2013

The American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) welcomes the invitation by International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Council President Roberto Kobeh Gonzalez to Taiwan civil aviation authorities to participate at the 2013 ICAO Assembly in Montreal as guests of the ICAO Council President.

AIT believes Taiwan’s participation at the ICAO Assembly will support Taiwan authorities’ efforts to implement aviation safety, security, and environmental measures that are consistent with international standards and recommended practices.

AIT appreciates the flexibility and support demonstrated by President Kobeh and all ICAO members in allowing Taiwan’s participation at this year’s ICAO Assembly. AIT also recognizes the interest ICAO members have expressed about Taiwan’s participation in ICAO activities.
