U.S. Diversity Visa Program for 2014

The American Institute in Taiwan is pleased to announce that the U.S. Diversity Immigrant Visa (DV) lottery will run from noon October 2, 2012, through noon November 3, 2012, Eastern Daylight Time (EDT).

The only source for complete and authoritative information on eligibility requirements and application procedures is www.dvlottery.state.gov.   All applications must be submitted online according to the instructions on the Diversity Immigrant Visa Program website.  Entrants are required to submit an e-mail address with their applications.

Persons born on the islands of Taiwan and Penghu are eligible to participate in the DV program again this year.  Persons born elsewhere should check the link www.dvlottery.state.gov.

Due to anticipated high demand for the online application system, AIT encourages participants to submit applications well before the lottery ends.  It is very important to apply early, as no entries will be accepted after noon, November 3, 2012 Eastern Daylight Time, regardless of whether there are system delays during the registration period.  

There is no fee to participate in the Diversity Immigrant Visa lottery.  The U.S. Government employs no outside consultants or private services to operate the DV program.  Any intermediaries or others who offer assistance to prepare DV entries do so without the authority or consent of the U.S. Government.  Use of any outside intermediary or assistance to prepare a DV entry is entirely at the entrant's discretion.   If you are viewing this on the Internet, please be advised that AIT and the U.S. Department of State do not endorse firms whose advertisements may be displayed alongside this announcement.
