AIT to Launch "America Week" on June 30 at Shin Kong Mitsukoshi

The Commercial Section and Agricultural Trade Office of the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) are pleased to announce that AIT will once again collaborate with Shin Kong Mitsukoshi to organize an America Week event (June 30th - July 21st) celebrating the 235th anniversary of the United States’ Independence Day.

America Week will be held at Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Department Store’s Xinyi Branch and will feature several special exhibits including a celebration of Coca Cola’s 125th anniversary, Timberland’s eco-friendly footwear, Microsoft’s Kinect for Xbox 360, and Disney’s collection of books for young readers. Mitsukoshi will also showcase a 6-foot replica of Optimus Prime from this summer’s blockbuster film, “Transformers: Dark of the Moon.” More than 160 U.S. brands of housewares, apparel, and high quality American food and beverages will be showcased during America Week. Shoppers will also be introduced to U.S. educational programs and popular American travel destinations such as Yellowstone National Park.

AIT invites members of the media and general public to join the America Week opening ceremony on June 30, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. on the 6th floor of Shin Kong Mitsukoshi’s A11 building.
