U.S. Museum Curator Serves on Selection Jury for Taishin Arts Awards
The American Institute in Taiwan is pleased to co-sponsor the 7th Taishin Arts Award Exhibition, which will be held from April 25 to May 24, 2009 at Taipei's Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA). This exhibition displays the work of the finalists for the Taishin Art Award.
AIT is co-sponsoring the participation of Christiane Paul, adjunct curator of new media arts at the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York City. Ms. Paul will serve as a member of the final selection jury for the 7th Taishin Arts Award.
In addition to her duties as a jury member, Ms. Paul, the author of New Media in the White Cube and Beyond: Curatorial Models for Digital Art, will discuss the influence of new media on the art world on Sunday, May 3, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at MOCA. The Taishin Arts Award, organized by the Taishin Bank Foundation for Arts and Culture, is an annual prize to recognize Taiwan's most outstanding visual and performing arts. Winners of the award will be announced on May 2, 2009.
