AIT Celebrates International Education Week November 17 - 21 with Wide Range of Activities

The American Institute in Taiwan and the EducationUSA Advising Centers in Taiwan are celebrating International Education Week with activities across Taiwan to promote international education.

From November 17 - 21, 2008, the EducationUSA Advising Centers in Taiwan and the AIT American Cultural Center in Taipei will jointly sponsor events for students, scholars, and professionals. The week's activities will involve current U.S. Fulbright scholars, AIT officers, and admissions officers from U.S. universities.

International Education Week aims to celebrate the positive impact of international educational exchange on our nation and the world. It is a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education to promote programs that attract future leaders from around the world to study, learn, and exchange experiences in the U.S.

AIT American Cultural Center Scott Robinson encourages Taiwan students and their parents to participate in the week's activities and to log on to the EducationUSA Taiwan website for information about opportunities for study in the U.S. - at http://www.EducationUSA.org.tw.

The week's activities will include:

  • A digital video Conference (DVC) with admissions officers from 4 Indiana universities at the Foundation for Scholarly Exchange
  • Student-centered programs focused on study in the U.S., including special presentations for university and high school students in Taipei, Hsinchu, Taichung and Kaohsiung.
  • A panel discussion on, "Experience Sharing -- Maximizing Exchange Agreements," featuring university and education officials from Taiwan and the U.S. for Taiwan educational professional.
