Study of the U.S. Institute: Faculty Program on National Security

The American Institute in Taiwan's Public Affairs Section and the Foundation for Scholarly Exchange are soliciting faculty nominations for a "Study of the U.S. Institute" on U.S. National Security Policymaking in a Post 9/11 World.  This program will be held in the winter of 2009 at an institution in the United States.  This program is designed for mid-career university educators and will last from mid-January to early March 2009.

The Study of the U.S. Institute is a six-week academic program for multinational groups of university faculty and professionals from outside the United States. Approximately 18 foreign educators will be selected to participate in this program, the aim of which is to strengthen curricula and improve the quality of teaching about the United States in academic institutions outside the U.S. The program includes two components: an intensive, four-week academic seminar and a two-week study tour designed to reinforce the academic content of the seminar.  Cultural activities complement the program and will help to increase the participants' understanding of U.S. society.  Mid-career university instructors with an advanced command of English and an academic interest in National Security issues who are likely to be comfortable with U.S. campus life are invited to apply.  A detailed program summary and application form can be found at the following link:
