AIT Holds American Baseball Summer Camp in Taichung

In celebration of the Fourth of July, the American Institute in Taiwan and the Taichung American Corner invite Taiwan youth (eight to 15 years of age) to participate in an English Summer Camp on Saturday, July 5, 2008.

This event will be held at the Taichung American Corner for aboriginal high school students and at Providence University Foreign Language Center for elementary school students. The programs aim to increase awareness of American society, culture and values. It will include events focused on American Baseball, American culture and holidays, as well as American Indians Story.  This activity is cosponsored by Providence University Foreign Language Center and Chinese Professional Baseball League.  

During the program, two players of the Shinon Bulls Professional Baseball team, Tseng Hua-wei and Cheng Chao-hsing will introduce American baseball and play games with students for promoting and raising their interests on baseball.

The Taichung American Corner is located at the National Taichung Library Reference Room, 1F, No. 291-3, Ching-wu Road, Taichung.  The Providence University Foreign Language Center is located at 200 Chung Chi Road, Taichung.
