AIT Accepting Nominations For Study of the U.S. Institute on American Topics

The American Institute in Taiwan's Public Affairs Section and the Foundation for Scholarly Exchange are pleased to begin accepting applications for seven Summer 2008 Study of the United States Institutes on American topics including: American Civilization; American Politics and Political Thought; Contemporary American Literature; U.S. Foreign Policy; Journalism and Media; Religious Pluralism; and Secondary Education.

The programs will be organized from mid June through early August 2008 at various sites in the U.S. and are designed for mid-career university faculty, scholars and secondary educators who are interested in furthering their study of the society, culture and institutions of the United States.

The Study of the United States Institutes are rigorous post-graduate-level academic seminar with integrated study tours that will provide a multinational group of university faculty and professionals with a deeper understanding of American society, culture and institutions, past and present.  The programs' ultimate goal is to strengthen curricula and to improve the quality of teaching about the United States in academic institutions.  All participant costs will be covered.
