"Sacred Legacy" Digital Video Conference

AIT's American Cultural Center will conduct a Digital Video Conference (DVC) entitled "Shadow Catcher: Edward S. Curtis and the North American Indian" on Friday, September 21, 2007 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The DVC will feature Anne Makepeace, Director of the award-winning documentary "Coming to Light" on the American Indian photography of Edward S. Curtis. Following the DVC, "Coming to Light" will be shown in English with Chinese subtitles.
This DVC is being organized in conjunction with the "Sacred Legacy: Edward S. Curtis and the North American Indian" photo exhibit on display at the National Taiwan Museum through October 21, 2007.
Members of the media and general public are invited to attend free of charge.

The award-winning documentary "Coming to Light" tells the dramatic story of Edward S. Curtis' life, the creation of his monumental photos of American Indians, and his changing views of the people he set out to document. The film also gives American Indians the opportunity to tell stories about the people in the photographs, and discuss the meaning of the images.
