AIT Co-Sponsors Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Protection Workshop Feb. 5-6, 2007

The American Institute in Taiwan is pleased to co-sponsor "Meeting the Challenges of IPR Protection in Taiwan and Beyond," an IPR Protection Workshop organized by the Graduate Institute of Intellectual Property, National Chengchi University and Licensing Executives Society on February 5-6 at the Agora Garden in Taipei.

The workshop is also supported by the U.S. Department of Justice/ U.S. Overseas Prosecutorial Development, Assistance and Training; Taiwan's Judicial Yuan, Ministry of Justice; and the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Intellectual Property Office.

The workshop will bring together experts and professionals from Taiwan, the United States and Thailand to share their experiences in IPR protection, a key to economic development in the region.

At the invitation of the organizers, AIT Director Stephen M. Young and Taiwan Minister of Justice Shi Mau-ling will make remarks at the opening ceremony of the workshop.

AIT welcomes this opportunity to interact with Taiwan officials, and we look forward to an ever more productive partnership on IPR issues.
