Janee Pierre-Louis Takes Position As Commercial Section Chief At the American Institute in Taiwan, Kaohsiung Branch Office

Janee Pierre-Louis took office as the new Commercial Section Chief at the American Institute in Taiwan, Kaohsiung Branch Office. Her primary responsibility entails assisting U.S. exporters to enter local markets and expand their business in southern Taiwan.
Prior to her assignment in Kaohsiung, Ms. Pierre-Louis served as a Commercial Officer at AIT Taipei Office (December 2005 - May 2006) where she covered information technology and consumer goods sectors, and as Senior Commercial Specialist at the U.S. Consulate General in Shanghai (April 2004-October 2005), where she supported the basic industries, transportation, education/training, and healthcare team. Ms. Pierre-Louis began working for the U.S. Department of Commerce in 2002 as an International Trade Specialist responsible for monitoring China WTO compliance and coordinating small & medium sized business outreach, while concurrently serving as the Desk Officer for Mongolia.
Prior to joining government service, Ms. Pierre-Louis spent several years working in the private sector in Taipei and Washington, DC. Ms. Pierre-Louis holds an M.S. from Georgetown University School of Foreign Service in Washington, DC (2002) and a B.A. in International Business from Washington University in St. Louis, MO (1997). She has spent a number of years studying Mandarin Chinese and working in Greater China. She is married to Jean Pierre-Louis, who currently serves as Economic and Consular Section Chief at AIT Kaohsiung Branch Office.
