Jean Pierre-Louis Takes Position As Economic and Consular Section Chief at the American Institute in Taiwan, Kaohsiung Branch Office

Jean Pierre-Louis took office as the new Economic and Consular Section Chief at the American Institute in Taiwan, Kaohsiung Branch Office.

Jean Pierre-Louis joined the Foreign Service in June 2003.  He was born in Haiti but moved to the United States with his family at age ten, where he grew up in Miami, Florida.  Mr. Pierre-Louis was educated at the University of Florida, where he received his Bachelor of Arts in History, and Georgetown University, where he earned a Master of Science in Foreign Service.

Mr. Pierre-Louis was assigned to Kaohsiung after two years in Shanghai, where he served as the General Services Officer.  Mr. Pierre-Louis is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and Haitian Creole and conversant in French and Spanish.  He is married to Janee Pierre-Louis, an officer with the Foreign Commercial Service.
