AIT Presents Slide Lecture on Art and Culture in Chicago

To explore the visual arts that have put Chicago on the map for generations, with the city's many contributions to culture in the last century continuing strongly into the 21st Century, AIT's American Cultural Center will host a slide lecture entitled "Into the New Millennium: Art and Culture in Chicago" by Gregory G. Knight, Deputy Commissioner of the Department of Cultural Affairs, Chicago Cultural Center.

Gregory G. Knight is the Deputy Commissioner/Visual Arts for the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and serves as Chief Curator of the exhibitions program at the Chicago Cultural Center, where he has worked for 27 years and directs the City of Chicago Public Art Program.  He has curated several exhibits, including the exhibit "Crossing" for the Kaohsiung Fine Arts Museum which brings him to Taiwan.  He holds a B.A. in art history from Arizona State University and an M.A. in art history from The University of Chicago.  In addition to lecturing and writing texts for various publications, Greg Knight has served as juror for art fairs, exhibitions, and fellowship programs nationally.
