Ohio Governor Bob Taft Leading State Delegation to Taiwan
Ohio Governor Bob Taft will be visiting Taiwan from September 30 - October 2, 2004, as the head of a delegation consisting of close to 50 representatives from more than 30 companies and organizations from the state of Ohio.
The purpose of the delegation's visit includes identifying local companies interested in investing in Ohio; promoting Ohio exports; encouraging research and development collaborations between universities and organizations; and building educational, social and cultural exchanges between Ohio and Taiwan.
Taiwan is one of Ohio's top 20 export markets and a growing source of advanced technology collaborations. In 2003, Ohio's exports to Taiwan were worth approximately US$201,475,000.
