Nadine L. Siak Takes Position as Information Officer at the American Institute in Taiwan

Nadine Leavitt Siak took office as the new Information Officer in the Public Affairs Section of the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT).
Ms. Siak came to AIT from the U.S. State Department's Bureau of International Information Programs, where she was a senior writer and editor covering East Asian and Pacific affairs. Before she joined the State Department in 1999, she was the head of the Research and Information Center in the Voice of America's East Asia-Pacific Division. She also worked for VOA's Chinese broadcasting service as an information specialist.
Ms. Siak graduated from The Johns Hopkins University with a B.A. in creative writing, and holds M.A. degrees from the University of Michigan in Chinese studies and journalism. She studied in China as an undergraduate and as a postgraduate, first at Nanjing University, and later at The Johns Hopkins University-Nanjing University Center for Chinese and American Studies. She also taught English literature at Jiangxi (now Nanchang) University.
Ms. Siak is married to Dr. Steven Wai-Meng Siak, who has accompanied her to Taiwan.
