"After September 11" Photo Exhibition Opens in Yuan Ze University

PR0254E | Date: 2002-10-16

The "After September 11: Images from Ground Zero" photo exhibition opens at Yuan Ze University Art Center, Chung-li, on October 16, 2002. Twenty-seven pictures chosen from among 5,000 that New York photographer Joel Meyerowitz took will be on display through November 23, 2002. AIT Cultural and Information Section Chief Judith Mudd-Krijgelmans presided over the opening ceremony.

Meyerowitz, winner of a prestigious Guggenheim Fellowship, was the only photographer allowed to have unimpeded access to Ground Zero just two days after the September 11 attacks on the New York World Trade Center in 2001. The photos he took at Ground Zero offer a stunning reflection of the attacks and the reaction of the American people in human terms. They can be appreciated from an artistic, photojournalism or global issue perspective. The show will continue to tour the island during the coming two years.

The opening time for the exhibition at Yuan Ze University is Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. More information on this exhibit can be found at "http://www.yzu.edu.tw/yzu/art/new/1.htm".
