New U.S. Visa Application Fee
In keeping with the worldwide adjustment in U.S. visa fees recently announced by the U.S. Department of State, the AIT nonimmigrant visa application processing fee will increase to NT$3600 (from NT$2300). The new schedule will be effective November 1, 2002.
As a result of enhanced security screening requirements and additional procedures instituted since September 11, 2001, the costs of administering nonimmigrant visa services have risen necessitating a fee increase.
Nonimmigrant visa fee receipts are valid for one year. Applicants, who pay the nonimmigrant fee prior to November 1, 2002, may use that receipt to apply for a visa within one year from the date of the receipt.
