AIT Cultural Diversity Program to Discuss Irish American Experience on St. Patrick's Day

The AIT Cultural and Information Section, in conjunction with Tamkang University, will hold a lecture and informal discussion on “The Irish American Experience” on March 13, 2002. This is one of a series of AIT programs celebrating American cultural diversity and in commemoration of St. Patrick’s Day. It will be held in English (with Chinese interpretation) at the Taipei Campus of Tamkang University.

The main speaker Jerome Keating with a Ph.D. in Communications and Humanities from Syracuse University will discuss the Irish experience in immigrating to the United States. From outcasts to final acceptance, the passages of the Irish in American life will be examined and highlighted along with anecdotes of personal experience from the Keating family.
