Arrival Statement of AIT Chairman and Managing Director Dr. Richard C. Bush
I am very pleased to come again to Taiwan. I have three purposes for my visit. The first is to meet with my hard-working colleagues at AIT. The second, to gain a better understanding of Taiwan’s economy and politics after the December 1st election and Taiwan’s entry into the WTO. The third is to convey on behalf of the people of the United States our profound thanks for Taiwan’s assistance after the tragedy of September 11th. The cooperation has been outstanding and demonstrates that Taiwan is indeed a good global citizen.
