AIT Offices to Close for Holiday
All offices of the American Institute in Taiwan will be closed on Monday, February 19, 2001, in observance of Presidents' Day. This includes the Travel Services Section, the American Trade Center, the American Cultural Center, the American Cultural Center Resource Service and the AIT Kaohsiung branch office.
Since the birthdays of former U.S. Presidents George Washington and Abraham Lincoln both fall in February, the two days have been joined as a national holiday and expanded to embrace all past presidents. Presidents' Day is celebrated on the third Monday in February.
