U.S. Congressional Delegation to Visit Taipei November 30 - December 2, 2000
A bi-partisan delegation from the U.S. Congress, led by Representative Floyd Spence (R-SC), will visit Taiwan November 30 - December 2, 2000. The delegation will meet with Taiwan authorities to discuss matters of mutual interest to Taiwan and the United States.
Representative Spence is the Chairman of the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Armed Services. He has been a U.S. congressman representing South Carolina since 1971. Other members of the delegation include Representative Solomon P. Ortiz (D-TX), Representative John M. McHugh (R-NY), Representative Richard Burr (R-NC), and Representative Silvestre Reyes (D-TX).
Before traveling to Taiwan, this delegation also visited Korea, Thailand, and Singapore.
