AIT Offices to Close for Holiday

All offices of the American Institute in Taiwan will be closed on Thursday, November 23, 2000, in observance of Thanksgiving Day. This includes the Travel Services Section, the American Trade Center, the American Cultural Center, the American Cultural Center Resource Service and the AIT Kaohsiung branch office.

The Thanksgiving holiday was first celebrated in 1621 by English settlers of the Plymouth colony in North America, and the spirit and customs with which they endowed the day have remained unchanged in the United States until now -to enjoy the fruits of the harvest, and to give thanks for the year's blessings, including the joy of being united for the occasion.
