AIT Celebrates 2015 International Education Week - November 16-20, 2015
Between November 16 and 20, 2015, the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) will celebrate International Education Week (IEW). IEW is an annual, joint initiative of the U.S. Department of Education and the U.S. Department of State that promotes educational programs to prepare Americans for an increasingly interconnected world and seeks to attract people from abroad for study, learning, and exchange experiences in the United States. This year's theme, “Access for All,” highlights long-standing U.S. policy to welcome international students and young people to the United States in order to advance their professional and academic goals, and develop the people-to-people relationships that are necessary to solve global challenges.
Education is an important link between the United States and Taiwan. Taiwan remains among the top ten senders of international students to the United States. EducationUSA, in partnership with AIT, provides potential students and their parents with accurate information about studying in the United States. The EducationUSA Advising Center (www.educationusa.tw) is located at the Foundation for Scholarly Exchange in Taipei (www.fulbright.org.tw). During International Education Week 2015, EducationUSA will showcase its promotional videos, and have information available to interested students at its Advising Center, at the American Innovation Center in Taipei, and at AIT’s American Corners (http://www.americancorner.org.tw/). EducationUSA advisers will also travel to selected university campuses in Taiwan to talk directly with students.
