The American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) and American State Offices Association jointly opened the USA Pavilion at the 2010 Taipei International Flora Exposition on November 9. AIT Deputy Director Eric Madison, joined Taipei City Government Department of Economic Development Commissioner Chen Hsiung-wen, TAITRA Executive Vice President Walter Yeh, and Taipei American Chamber of Commerce Chairman Alan Eusden for a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Located in the exposition's Global Garden Area of the Taipei Fine Arts Museum, the USA Pavilion features landscaping and wood frame construction made from several types of wood products from the United States. The Hawaii Pavilion features cut flowers imported from Hawaii.

American culture is a fusion of ethnic groups around the world. USA Pavilion designer Jesse Yang captured this fusion concept in his design. He integrated the American landscape, features, and cultures into this 600 square meter miniature of the USA.
