AIT Director William Stanton discussed key American values such as democracy, diversity and the American Dream as part of the Lung Ying-tai Cultural Foundation's "Taipei Salon" lecture series on July 10. In a speech entitled "The Paradox of America," Director Stanton discussed the sometimes oppositional themes and factors that have shaped the development of the United States. A capacity crowd of over 300 people, including students, scholars and journalists, attended the event. After his remarks, Director Stanton fielded questions from the audience for more than one hour.
