AIT Director William Stanton gave an exclusive interview to the United Daily News at his residence and the interview was published as front-page and page two stories in the newspaper on October 29, 2010. Director Stanton discussed a wide range of issues in U.S.-Taiwan relations, including our broad trade and investment ties, the U.S. Visa Waiver Program, and a possible extradition agreement. Director Stanton also said that engagement between Taiwan and China is important for cross-Strait stability and it was up to the Taiwan people to determine the pace and direction of that engagement.
