Communications Specialist Shares Tips on Crisis and Risk Communication

Dan Rutz, a communications specialist with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, gave presentations on crisis and risk communication at venues throughout Taiwan from September 13-17, 2010. During his visit, Mr. Rutz spoke at the Taiwan Centers for Disease Control, the Food and Drug Administration and the Environmental Protection Administration, among other locations. Mr. Rutz was formerly a managing editor and senior medical correspondent with the CNN television network. His visit to Taiwan was planned in coordination with the Department of State's U.S. Speaker and Specialist Program.
