(Many hands make light work) ?

Quilts can also tell stories. The quilt in this picture tells about the quilter's family vacations. In the old days friends and family members would come together for a "quilting bee." At a quilting bee, quilters, usually women, gathered around the quilting frame and exchanged stories while sewing the layers together. Have you heard the saying, 'Many hands make light work'? Working together, the women finished the quilt more quickly than if one person had done all the stitching herself. Swapping stories helped pass the time and made the "bee" like a party. Today, quilting remains a fun thing to do with friends. What's another reason quilts are created?
